It's not really a feature, more a counter to an exploit. Another counter might be that the allies chase down the player who picked up their friend, and the player incurs a bounty.

The best solution I've found to OP's problem is to bind Q and E to previous / next member and just hover the mouse over where the X mark for the job is, then click + next however many times.
Web7 feb. 2024 · The go to fix is to remove all jobs and add one by one to see if any of the jobs conflicts with another. Another one is to rebuild the nav mesh (Ctrl + Shift + F11) if it happens after you build more structure around the base.

I can drop them or put them in a cage but I can't sell. You can only sell some npcs. When you click on the guy while carrying someone you can sell, you'll get a different dialog. Unless modded, you only get 400 cats per slave.
