WebGreenplum Database handles temporary tables differently from the standard; see CREATE TABLE for details. The WITH clause is a Greenplum Database extension; neither storage parameters nor OIDs are in the standard. The syntax for creating OID system columns is deprecated and will be removed in a future Greenplum release. WebTemporary tables are automatically dropped at the end of a session, or optionally at the end of the current transaction (see ON COMMIT). Existing permanent tables with the same name are not visible to the current session while the temporary table exists, unless they are referenced with schema-qualified names.

WebSep 26, 2024 · Global temporary tables are objects that are just like regular tables, but their data is private and removed at the end of the session. Other sessions can use the global temporary table, but they will have their own set of data. Private temporary tables work in a similar way to local temporary tables in SQL Server. WebTemporary tables are beneficial when multiple sessions need to work in parallel with their own versions (data, definition or both) of the same temp table. Greenplum will internally ensure that these are stored, accessed and dropped separately. So, every session/connection can have their own implementation of a temp table named T1.

This rate was consistent at the 5 hour mark up until I canceled the query at 6 hrs in. An immediate rerunning of the function finished in an hour. Temp table file size was 226 MB and was created in ~15 mins.
