Graphitization of charcoal
WebThe first one, washed charcoal was disc milled for 10 min to get powder then activated. The separated powder was dried in air yielding activated carbon hereafter named AC1. Second one, burned coconut shell charcoal was grounded into small particles (0.5 to 1.5 mm) and then get activated by repeating 10 times the activation process. WebFigure-1(a) shows a wide (amorphous) charcoal powder pattern, while the graphite in Figure-1(b) increases in intensity towards the crystalline phase with a not-too-sharp peak indicating that the graphitization process is not complete. Furthermore, Figure 1(c) shows the amorphous GO diffraction pattern.
